Former UFC fighter Melvin Guillard was involved in a car accident recently. Despite his vehicle suffering extensive damage, Guillard and his wife both walked away without any serious injuries.
He first posted news of the car accident, stating on Instagram that the two were headed to dinner and a movie “now on the way to the hospital.”
The 31-year-old Guillard (31-13-2) went 1-3 with one no-contest over his last five fights inside the Octagon. He was released following a March decision loss to Michael Johnson, but quickly signed on with the World Series of Fighting.
Guillard remains on the July 5 card from Florida, where he will meet Gesias Cavalcante at WSOF 11.
“We both so lucky to be alive today GOD was watching over us both,” Guillard wrote. “He definitely got my attention.”
