UFC heavyweight Mark Hunt was recently forced to go under the knife, though not based on the broken toe he suffered at UFC 160 in a loss to Junior dos Santos. Rather, Hunt had surgery to take care of an infection in his other leg.
“Right leg is fractured big toe and left leg is infected bruise,” wrote Hunt on Twitter, joking, “I’m a walking infection.”
The “Super Samoan” also said he’d likely have to have a few more surgeries to get back to full speed. No date was mentioned for his return.
Hunt’s loss to Dos Santos laid a four-fight run to waste. He holds an overall record of 9-8 including success against Stefan Struve, Ben Rothwell, and Cheick Kongo.
