Injured Brian Stann pulled from UFC on FOX 4 fight with Hector Lombard

It’s been a rough weeklong stretch for the UFC after watching a number of their top fighters go down due to injury. Now, unfortunately, the list has grown by another with Brian Stann being forced out of an August 4 fight with Hector Lombard for health-related reasons. The severity of his injury is unknown at this point.

Stann and Lombard were scheduled to serve as the show’s headliner. No word has surfaced on how the UFC will handle the situation in terms of a replacement or the potential bout’s placement on the lineup.

Stann Expected a High Volume of Violence in Lombard Match-Up

MMAFighting was first to report Stann’s status.

Lombard is a former Bellator champion who hasn’t tasted defeat since November 2006, racking up 24 wins in the span since. Many of the UFC’s other highly-touted middleweights are currently booked in other bouts or injured though a handful remain possibilities such as Rousimar Palhares and Yushin Okami.

Other fights set for the UFC on FOX 4 lineup include Travis Browne-Ben Rothwell and Lyoto Machida-Travis Browne.
