UFC Interim Champion Renan Barao is likely injured and out of next month’s UFC 161 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. According to reports, Barao injured his right foot in training and right doctors are trying to determine if he can still fight. When UFC officials were asked about the report, reporters were told Barao was ‘probably out.’
The UFC needs to make a decision soon as UFC 161 Barao Vs Wineland takes place on June 15th at the MTS Centre. If Barao is injured, this would make the second UFC Banatamweight belt that will sit on a shelf as Barao won his Interim because UFC Bantamweight Champion Dominick Cruz has been injured for close to two years now. Stay close to Fighters.com as we will be recovering this as the story unfolds.
