Sam Alvey Defends His Title At MFC 40, Lightweight Champ Crowned

Sam Alvey successfully defended his middleweight belt and Tom Gallicchio became the lightweight champion for Maximum Fighting Championship Friday night at MFC 40.

Alvey defeated Wes Swofford with a fourth round knockout, while Gallicchio scored a first round submission victory over Kurt Southern to become champion.

Gallicchio is now schedule to defend his title against Marcus Edwards, while the promotion also set up a bantamweight title match for the future between champion Anthony Birchak and Jesse Brock.
