Conor McGregor wasn’t in the joking mood earlier this week when he appeared on “UFC Tonight” to discuss his July fight with Cole Miller at UFC Fight Night 46.
McGregor, who is returning from a serious knee injury, stated it bold and to the point when discussing what he plans to do to Miller in his hometown of Dublin, Ireland.
“Coming back from this injury, (I’m) a man possessed,” McGregor said. “I’m going to go in there and I’m going to break him in the very first exchange.
“(Miller) opened his mouth. He was under the influence of post-fight adrenaline. It has the same affect as alcohol. He spoke with bravery, but guess what happened? It wore off.”
McGregor (14-2) has won both of his matches inside the Octagon, besting Marcus Brimage and Max Holloway. He tore his ACL in the win over Holloway, though, and the 25-year-old has been recovering since.
In Miller (21-8), McGregor stated that he’s “slow. He’s scared. I’m fast. I’m fearless. It’s not contest.”
Once he’s done with Miller, McGregor plans to mow through the rest of the featherweight division, including UFC champion Jose Aldo and contenders Cub Swanson and Chad Mendes.
“I’m back. Now I’m going to rip through (them),” he said. “I’m going to stomp Cole. Whoever’s next…Cub? I’ll break Cub. I’ll embarrass Chad. I’ll annihilate Jose. It’s my division.”
