UFC lightweight Diego Sanchez recently revealed he’s gotten word from his superiors about being penciled in for action on August 31 at UFC 164. However, Sanchez still has no idea who he’ll be facing at the event.
The 24-5 fan-favorite recently spoke with MMAJunkie Radio where he confirmed his next match-up will take place at the Milwaukee show, mentioning names like Gilbert Melendez, Josh Thomson, and Nate Diaz as potential opponents.
“There are so many good fights in that division that I couldn’t narrow it down to one,” admitted Sanchez.
Sanchez picked up a Split Decision win over Takanori Gomi last February in his return to 155 pounds after a welterweight run. “The Dream” also scored success against Joe Stevenson and Clay Guida at lightweight during an earlier stint in the Octagon, falling to then-champion B.J. Penn in a title-fight before heading back to 170.
