Matt Brown will make his return to the Octagon later this year in the main event of UFC Fight Night from Cincinnati.
To get himself prepared for Erick Silva, Brown took a trip to Cuba and trained with the Cuban national team to improve in boxing and wrestling.
Brown, who has positioned himself as a contender in the welterweight division, referred to the experience as “humbling” after finding out there was another level of fighting.
Since a 2011 submission loss to Seth Baczynski, Brown (18-11) has won six straight. During his current run, he has finished five of his opponents via a form of knockout or TKO.
Silva (16-4) is coming off a knockout win over Takenori Sato and is 3-2 in his last five overall.
