UFC middleweight Chris Weidman (9-0) will have been out of action for a year when he finally sees action this summer. However, rather than get an opportunity to re-acclimate himself to the Octagon, Weidman is facing champion Anderson Silva (33-4) who is widely seen as the greatest fighter to ever grace the infamous eight-sided cage.
While some competitors might be intimidated by such a test, Weidman is actually excited about locking horns with Silva at UFC 162 and shocking the world as a result of what goes down.
In a recent conversation with MMAMania, Weidman explained…
“I think I’m a great match-up for him and I’m excited for it. I still think he’s the greatest of all time. I don’t think we’ve seen him slow down too much. He got exposed with the wrestling, but I think that’s happened in all his fights.”
“I’m expecting the best Anderson Silva that’s ever been. This is definitely my toughest challenge. I’m fighting the greatest of all time. It’s a dream match-up and I can’t wait to meet the challenge…and defeat it. I’m ready to become a champion.”
