Though there have only been two fights featuring female bantamweights in the UFC to date, each effort was extremely entertaining and left most fans wanting more as soon as possible. Now, it appears two of the women who went to war in the aforementioned match-ups are interested in locking horns, as both Miesha Tate and Liz Carmouche have expressed a desire to duke it out this summer.
According to UFC Tonight, Tate and Carmouche are tentatively scheduled for a showdown on July 27 at UFC on FOX 8. However, before making things official Tate needs to be cleared by a doctor in relation to a damaged nose sustained in her April outing against Cat Zingano.
Tate is 13-4 with past wins over Marloes Coenen, Julie Kedzie, and Sarah Kaufman. Comparably, Carmouche is 8-3 with seven stoppages including five by way of strikes.
