Travis Browne Says The More The Merrier At Jackson’s Gym

Alistair Overeem is headed to Jackson’s MMA in New Mexico for a “tryout” to see if the gym fits his needs going forward after leaving the Blackzilians.

Currently, the room is home to Travis Browne, who competes this Saturday vs. Fabricio Werdum at UFC on FOX 11.

Just seven months ago, Browne knocked Overeem out, placing himself on the short-list of title contenders.

So, would he have any issues sharing the training facility with Overeem should he decide to join the camp?

“I actually embrace the idea,” said Browne, during a recent interview with MMAjunkie.com. “If you personally don’t get along with somebody, that doesn’t mean they can’t help you professional. I’ve personally never had any issues with Overeem, and professional, I’ve never had any issues with him.

“We’ll just be here to push each other to be the best in the world.”

Browne (16-1-1) earned a first round knockout vs. Overeem last August, following it up with a finish of Josh Barnett in December to secure his fight with Werdum.

“I don’t have a problem with inviting other heavyweights in. If they train hard and they work their way up to fight me….it is what it is,” he said. “This is our job. This is what we do.”
