WWE ratings drop despite appearance of Brock Lesnar on Monday Night RAW

It turns out Brock Lesnar hasn’t brought in knockout ratings, at least not on his first officially advertised WWE show. RAW on Monday night pulled in a 3.10 rating after last week’s 3.43 the day after Wrestlemania, a show  featuring The Rock in the aftermath of his match with John Cena the previous night. Despite all the badassery of his beatdown on Cena during his surprise return at the end of RAW last week, some 700,000 fewer viewers tuned in this Monday to watch Lesnar deliver not only another F-5 but a crotch shot and a legit bloody lip.

Things weren’t much better for the live “Blast from the Past” Tuesday edition of Smackdown, which scored an average 1.5 rating down from a 1.9 for the last episode in its usual Friday spot – a drop of about 500,000 viewers. The switch to Tuesday this week is probably responsible for most of that.
