As announced earlier, Alexander Gustafsson was officially out of the main event for his UFC On FUEL 9 fight with Gegard Mousasi. UFC President Dana White took to twitter to announce that Ilir Latifi, training partner of Gustafsson, will step in to fight Mousasi on just 4 days notice. The bout will remain as the main event, but it will only be a 3 round fight.
Latifi, fighting out of Malmo, Sweden, is 7-2 and 1 no contest, and he hasn’t fought since October of last year. He is currently riding a 3 fight win streak, and his last loss was to current Bellator light heavyweight tournament champion winner Emanuel Newton in 2011.
