There’s a good deal of debate surrounding the likelihood of UFC welterweight Johny Hendricks dethroning Georges St-Pierre from the division’s top spot when the two meet later this year. On one side of the debate, people see Hendricks’ knockout power and wrestling background as the perfect foil to St-Pierre’s attack; on the other, fans point to GSP’s near-perfect approach in the Octagon as reason enough.
One man who has an opinion, as well as intimate knowledge of both competitors, is Carlos Condit. “The Natural Born Killer” is coming off consecutive losses to St-Pierre and Hendricks, suffering decision defeats in each effort. Condit gave his thoughts on the future fight during an interview with Inside MMA where he offered up a pick as well…
“Georges St-Pierre is just a more polished fighter. Johny Hendricks, he’s dangerous and he’s got good skills, but he is a little rough around the edges when it comes to his whole game. And Georges is just such a technician. He puts things together so well and is just a sharp, clean fighter and I think that’s probably going to make the difference in that match-up.”
