Last Saturday, we saw a changing of the guard in the mixed martial arts world, when Phil Davis aka “Mr. Wonderful” earned a hard-fought decision win over legend and former PRIDE star Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, brother to former ufc heavyweight champion “Minotauro”.
And while Rogerio succumbed his second loss inside the octagon, he still managed to pull in the largest base salary of all fighters on the card, which included the likes of former contenders Dan Hardy and Anthony Johnson also in action.
The following payroll does not reflect any additional “bonuses” that the UFC may have offered their fighters, as the public has now become aware of the extra locker room fight earnings as per the whole Michael Bisping/Jorge Rivera incident where UFC President Dana White stated that he withheld said “bonus” from “The Count”–not his win bonus or a “Fight Night” bonus–just a “bonus”. Particularly, main event or co-headlining bouts will usually benefit from such extra incentives from the UFC brass.
Also, the following figures do not reflect the actual “Fight Night” bonuses which were in the amount of $55k and were awarded to Michael McDonald and Edwin Figueroa for their “Fight of the Night”, Johny Hendricks for his “Knockout of the Night” win over T.J. Waldburger, and finally Chan Sung Jung aka “The Korean Zombie” for his “Submission of the Night” award which was bestowed to him after he cinched up a twister in his rematch with former title challenger Leonard Garcia.
