UFC welterweight Johny Hendricks may be happy to have finally earned a title-shot but he’s certainly not satisfied. The bearded brawler is coming off an impressive outpointing of Carlos Condit at UFC 158 to add to the six-fight run he’s currently on. However, to beat champion Georges St-Pierre, Hendricks will not only have to be at his best but, in his opinion, be better than he was against “The Natural Born Killer”.
Hendricks recently sat down to speak with MMAJunkie Radio where he admitted he’ll have to grow as a fighter if he wants to walk away with the gold when he crosses paths with GSP later this year.
“I’ve got a lot of things to improve on, which is good to know. What I’m going to do for the next month and a half is I’m going to work on exactly what I need to work on to get better.”
“We’ll throw some GSP things in there, but we’ll focus on what I did and what I need to improve on. Then once it gets closer for sure the date, then we’ll focus on what I need to do, but also what he can do.”
