Scott Jorgensen scrapping with Eddie Wineland this summer

An important fight in the bantamweight division has been booked for June 8 at UFC on FX 3, as WEC stand-outs Scott Jorgensen and Eddie Wineland will meet on the main card with a result where each will look to avoid a dreaded losing streak in an ever-growing division.

The UFC announced to match-up on Friday, adding to a card headlined by 125ers Demetrious Johnson-Ian McCall though lacking a location due to a Hometown Throwdown contest the organization is running where fans can vote on where the show will take place.

Jorgensen recently became the latest man to join sensational Brazilian Renan Barao’s run of consecutive victories, falling on the scorecards in February at UFC 143. Prior to the stumble “Young Guns” had fired off back-to-back wins over Ken Stone and Jeff Curran. He holds an overall record of 13-5 with other impressive showings against Brad Pickett and Takeya Mizugaki.

The stakes are a bit higher for Wineland who has lost his last two fights albeit to Urijah Faber/Joseph Benavidez respectively. The former WEC champion is still seeking his first win inside the Octagon and has been out of action since August.
