Lavar Johnson Suspended 9 Months, Released From UFC

UFC on FOX: Barry v Johnson

As reported on Fighters.com, UFC heavyweight Lavar Johnson failed his post fight drug test for elevated levels of testosterone.  Johnson lost a unanimous decision to Brendan Schaub at UFC 157: Rousey Vs Carmouche. It has now been reported that Johnson has been suspended for 9 months from the California State Athletic Commission, and in the wake of the test the UFC has released the heavyweight.

MMAJunkie was the first to report the story, and CSAC Executive Officer Andy Foster informed them that he will likely face a fine in the $1,000 range. The site also reports that no other fighters failed tests.
