The retirement of heavyweight legend Fedor Emelianenko is becoming a reality more and more with each passing day. Adding to the likelihood “The Last Emperor” won’t strap his gloves on every again outside of the gym, Emelianenko recently spoke about his future where he said it would take an act of God to get him back in the ring – literally.
“I don’t think so. Only if God tells me to come back. No other way,” said the 34-4 icon to Russian out RT Sport News.
Emelianenko called it quits after stringing together a trio of wins including a June 2012 knockout of Pedro Rizzo in what will almost certainly be his final fight. The beloved brawler also holds past wins against the likes of Mirko Filipovic, Andrei Arlovski, and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira.
