Most people who tuned in to UFC 158 were likely impressed by welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre’s ability to neutralize Nick Diaz throughout the majority of their main event match-up. However, Bellator title-holder Ben Askren wasn’t blown away by what he witnessed in the bout.
The 11-0 Askren took to Twitter after the tilt’s conclusion where he expressed complete confidence in his ability to end St-Pierre’s reign if given the chance.
“After tonight I am 100% sure I could beat GSP. GSP is no longer an aggressive striker. He will not out wrestle or grapple me. He gets tired. Simple enough,” wrote the world-class wrestler.
Askren’s background on the mat could prove to be enough to best St-Pierre. Unfortunately, the two are unlikely to face off any time soon if ever at all given the competitive relationship between their respective employers.

The best fighters are in UFC not in bellator, look what happen to Hector Lombard.
Much better fighters have said the same and paid the price.
Someone needs to send Ben a picture of Koscheck’s broken eye hole…
GSP lights up Askren like a xmas tree…
Dude beats Douglas Lima and Karl Amoussou, thinks it’s on par with all the guys Rush has taken out. What a tool.
Askren is ridiculous. He’d get smoked by St-Pierre. Zero stand-up and he’d never take down GSP so easily.
