Rory MacDonald Out Indefinitely After Aggravating Neck Injury

Rory MacDonald - UFC

UFC welterweight Rory MacDonald may be one of the division’s brightest talents but, sadly, he seems to miss a lot of time for health-related reasons. In fact, the 14-1 Canadian was poised to perform this weekend at UFC 158: St-Pierre vs. Diaz before straining his neck/back while preparing for his collision with Carlos Condit.

Though MacDonald was expected to be healthy again by the end of March, it looks like he’ll actually be out a little longer than expected after hurting his neck again during the recovery process. The 23-year old revealed his condition to SportsNet, saying he wasn’t sure when he’d be back but would see a doctor this week to check it out.

“(Rehab) was going good, but then yesterday I kind of hurt it again, so after today I’m going to get someone to check it out.”

“I was trying to get back slowly into training and I was just doing technique and I just tweaked it.”
