UFC welterweight Carlos Condit didn’t take offense to Johny Hendricks calling him out a few months back. After all, Condit was coming off a solid showing (albeit a losing one) to champion Georges St-Pierre and held interim gold leading up to the November bout. However, now that the two are actually facing off due to a twist of events, Condit is letting the world know he plans on hurting Hendricks to prove he’s not one to be messed with.
Condit spoke about his UFC 158 fight with Hendricks in a recent interview with the UFC where he offered a stark warning to the bearded brawler:
“Hendricks has called me out – I don’t mind being called out. If somebody wants to fight you, that means you have something that they want. As dangerous as he is, as feared as he is in this sport, he’s gotta step in the ring and fight me. Aware of his abilities, absolutely. But worried? No. I’m gonna go in there and try to beat the f*ck out of him.”
“It’s a huge fight. It puts me right back in title-contention with a win. It’s a risky fight, it’s dangerous, but the reward is definitely worth it.”
