Former WEC Micah Miller Versus Former UFC Michihiro Omigawa At ASTRA
By: Fighters.com Staff Posted On: March 8, 2010 at 8:05pmFormer WEC featherweight “Maverick” Micah Miller (13-3) and former UFC lightweight Michihiro Omigawa (9-8-1) will matchup in a 145-pound bout at ASTRA’s inaugural event in Tokyo April 25.
American Top Team’s Miller went 2-2 in the WEC in 2007 and 2008, but enters ASTRA with a three fight win streak. Most recently, Miller submitted “Cheesesteak” Anthony Morrison (15-8) at SHINE Fights 2 in Miami last September.
Omigawa went 0-2 in the UFC’s lightweight division 2007 and 2008, but has since gone 5-2-1 after returning to a more suitable 145 pounds. Most recently he TKO’d “Streetfight Bancho” Hiroyuki Takaya (12-8-1) at K-1 Dynamite!! on New Year’s Eve.
The first ASTRA event will mark the end of Olympic judo gold medalist Hidehiko Yoshida‘s (9-7-1) honorable MMA career, though no opponent for his final fight has been announced.
