Strikeforce champ Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos could be WWE bound

When was the last time that Cristiane Santos has fought?
Don’t worry, I’m scratching my head too. “Cyborg”, the Strikeforce women’s 145-pound champion, has not fought since June of last year against Jan Finney, who has since returned before Santos last November.
Since signing with Strikeforce in 2009, Santos has fought just four-times within a two-year span, and the Brazilian striker is getting extremely impatient with the pace that her mixed martial arts career has slowed down to. With infrequent fights, Santos is losing money in the mean time. Now, it appears that Cristiane is fielding an offer to sign with wrestling powerhouse franchise, World Wrestling Entertainment, aka the WWE.
Brazilian media outlet TATAME.com recently reported that Cristiane recently attended a WWE show just a couple of weeks ago with husband Evangelista “Cyborg”, and WWE officials approached the female mixed martial artist with a contract. Should Santos take up their offer, it would surely mean bigger paydays, as well as frequent competition, albeit on the less than “authentic” avenue.
Santos’ last appearance against Finney marked her second successful defense of her 145-pound title, which she originally earned in August of 2009 when the Brazilian knocked out the original face of women’s MMA, Gina Carano for the then-vacant title.
The lack of talent in the women’s middleweight class could be a huge factor in the infrequency in which Santos has been inside the cage. Both Finney and Marloes Coenen (who Santos also defended her belt against in 2010) have since dropped down to the 135-pound class. While Amanda Nunes made waves in her Strikeforce debut when she knocked out Julia Budd in just 14-seconds, she has been rumored to meet with the returning Carano sometime this year, leaving any viable contender to the title out of reach.
So, MMA peeps, what do you think of the news? Do you see a quick fix for Santos in Strikeforce? Who do you think could contend for her title immediately, or would you rather see her venture off to the WWE? Sound off in the comment section below.
