It’s been more than six months since fans have seen UFC light heavyweight Forrest Griffin in action and, unfortunately, it looks like it will be at least another six before the original Ultimate Fighter is ready to return to the ring. Griffin has been out since December with a knee injury he sustained while training for a tilt against Phil Davis.
Griffin offered an update on his condition this week via Twitter, writing, “Doctor said my knee is doing great and I’ll be able to go in 6-7 months. We must have different definitions of the word great.”
Based on the 19-7 Griffin’s trademark humor still being present in the message, it appears the former champion is still in high spirits. When he finally makes his way back to the Octagon the 33-year old will look to build off victories in three of his last four fights.
