Fighters Respond to Bout Between Wanderlei Silva-Brian Stann at UFC on Fuel 8

If you  squinted just right, as the lights flashed and ‘Sandstorm’ was blaring in the Saitama Sports Arena while Wanderlei Silva walked to the Octagon for his fight at UFC on Fuel 8, there was a vibe of a classic PRIDE fight. And, when Silva knocked out Brian Stann in the second round in the Fight of the Night (and Fight of the Year candidate), there was no question it was a special moment in the history of the UFC.

Last night’s main event was a legacy fight for both combatants, serving as one of the rare rumbles where both fighters won. Sure, Silva technically took home the victory, got a knockout bonus, and had his hand raised, but it’s impossible to call Stann a loser after the gutsy effort he put forth in their tilt.

The pro’s were just as impressed by the performances of both Stann and Silva. Here  is what they were saying about the main event after it took place…

Dana White- Holy shit Wanderlei looked good 2 night!!!!

Jason High -Holy sh*t. HOLY SH*T. Wanderlei Silva is the man bro. Damn

Eddie Alvarez- So Happy 4 Wand and sad for Brian , but In a sport where putting on ur time means everything, Wand finds his Glory tonight !
