Diego Sanchez Wants to Fight Nate Diaz

The blood has barely dried from UFC on Fuel 8, yet lightweight Diego Sanchez already has an opponent in mind for his next match-up. Sanchez scraped by at last night’s event by picking up a Split Decision win over Takanori Gomi. However, rather than lick his wounds and look at how he can improve, Sanchez has his sights squarely set on a duel with Nate Diaz.

Sanchez fought Diaz’s older brother, Nick Diaz, in 2005 where he earned the judges’ favor on all three scorecards. Now, as a 155er, he can pull off the unthinkable and potentially pick up wins over both of the scrappy Stocktonians.

“I feel fortunate to be off the injury list and back in the Octagon doing what I love. I don’t think this victory was given to me, I think I earned it.”

“Nate Diaz. I want to be the first one to say I beat both the Diaz brothers. I got the big brother, I want the little one next.”

I’d put my money on Nate unless Sanchez can get his weight in check.

I’d pay to see them throw down.
