Daniel Straus Locked Up on Drug Possession, Other Charges

This past week is one Bellator featherweight Daniel Straus would undoubtedly like to erase if possible. Things began poorly after Straus was forced to pull out of a title-fight due to injury and have ended even worse for the 28-year old, as the talented grappler was arrested yesterday on multiple charges (Possession of Marijuana, Possession of MDMA/Ecstasy, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Driving on a Suspended License).

According to MMAJunkie, Straus is still behind bars and has a $2,000 bond attached to his case. It is unknown what sort of time he is facing at this point though clearly his immediate MMA career is in jeopardy.

Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney has not released a statement yet relating to Stratus’ situation.

Straus was supposed to face Pat Curran on April 4 for the featherweight championship but broke his hand while preparing for the tilt.
