After Bellator 95’s main event fell to pieces with the injury of Daniel Straus, Bellator went into recover mode and saved the championship fight. Pat Curran was supposed to fight Season 6 featherweight winner Straus, but Straus was injured and forced off the card. Now Bellator has announced that Season 7 winner Shabulat Shamhalaev will be ready in time for the April 4 fight.
Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney Tweeted the news out Wednesday about the switch for the Atlantic City, N.J. Shamhalaev is fresh off his win over Rad Martinez on February 21 in Utah.
