Mathew Riddle, for the second time in the last twelve months, has tested positive for marijuana following a UFC bout. The welterweight fought Che Mills at UFC On Fuel TV 7 and picked up a Split Decision win that will likely be turned over to a no contest.
After his positive test and suspension at at UFC 149 earlier this year, and now this one, the UFC has released him. Riddle was very open about using medical marijuana, and said to multiple outlets that he knows how to time the tests as to not get caught.
MMAJunkie first reported the news on Tuesday. Riddle does have a medical marijuana license in the state of Nevada, however marijuana remains illegal for all fighters as stated in the unified rules that all commissions in the United States use to regulate MMA competitions.
