Dear Mr White
Thank you for promoting women in UFC. We went to our local pub in Australia especially to watch it. In the late 1980s to early 1990s women in kyokushin were placed in the ‘never’ category. Thanks to a few men who championed the rights of women – not to mention that we have to fight in competitions to earn points for our black belts – we now have national, international and world titles.
We dont want to be men or compete with them, we just enjoy our sport.
The last year has been eventful and a pleasure to see happen – women’s boxing at the Olympics and now UFC.
Thank you once again.
And would you pass on an OSU to Barry Rutten please. We really enjoyed his technical ability in the Pancrase and Pride competitions (actually any well trained and committed Kyokushin person is good to watch, not that we are biased).
