A trio of belts were on the line last night in Milwaukee, Wisconsin at WWE Elimination Chamber 2012 but in the end all three original champions walked out of the arena with their titles in tow including both CM Punk and Daniel Bryan who put their gold up for grabs in Elimination Chamber bouts.
The RAW Elimination Chamber match started the PPV out strong, including a number of near finishes and an excellent spot featuring Chris Jericho being head-kicked from the cage and into a camera-man. The bit was sold by all in attendance as action stopped inside the Chamber and even Punk flashed a look of concern. When things were said and done Punk retained his title by taking out The Miz with a Go To Sleep but clearly the feud between Punk-Jericho will continue as the WWE marches forward to Wrestlemania.
On the Smackdown side of things, while Bryan held on to his strap he absorbed a ton of damage for his troubles. In fact, at one point in the match Big Show tore the chains off of Bryan’s pod inside the Chamber, climbed into the confined space, and beat the vegan out of him. Santino Marella was also highlighted throughout the evening, being shown in a few comedy-meets-Rocky segments and nearly beating Bryan before succumbing to the LeBell lock.
Also worth noting, John Cena “embraced the hate” and finished Kane off at the top of the card, blasting him with an Attitude Adjustment off of an ambulance’s roof before locking him inside the emergency vehicle as required by the Ambulance Match stipulation. Cena nearly saw his own night ended after eating a Chokeslam through an announce table but battled back to pick up the victory.
