Clay Guida Clashing with Chad Mendes at UFC on FOX 7

UFC featherweight Chad Mendes was definitely disappointed to hear he wouldn’t be fighting in front of his fellow Californians later this month at UFC 157 after a match-up with Manny Gamburyan fell apart. However, it turns out the situation may have been a blessing in disguise, as Mendes’ next tilt will take place in his home State but features a fellow contender in the form of Clay Guida.

According to MMAJunkie, the two talented 145ers will face off on April 20 at UFC on FOX 7.

Guida holds an overall record of 30-13 with notable wins over Nate Diaz, Anthony Pettis, and most recently Hatsu Hioki in his featherweight debut. Comparably, Mendes is 13-1 and has won back-to-back bouts by way of knockout since losing to Jose Aldo in early 2012.
