Fan-favorite welterweight Manny Pacquiao will put his impressive run in the ring on the line against fellow champion Timothy Bradley Jr. this summer in Las Vegas. In addition to risking his six-year winning streak, the 33-year old Pacquiao will also put his belt up for grabs against junior welterweight title-holder Bradley.
While the June 9 fight isn’t quite official yet, both sides have verbally agreed to the match-up and are finalizing things with promoter Top Rank.
News of the bout was confirmed by ESPN.
Bradley Jr. is unbeaten in his 28 total fights, racking up twelve knockouts along the way. The 28-year old Californian is coming off an eighth round TKO of Joel Casamayor in November to defend his own divisional strap for the sixth time.
Holding a 54-3-2 record, Pacquiao’s success in the sweet science is well-documented with championships in multiple weight-classes. He has emerged with his hand raised in fifteen consecutive fights, most recently outpointing Juan Manuel Marquez.
