Bellator MMA and Spike TV will hold a press conference today to announce a partnership between UFC Hall Of Famer Randy Couture and SpikeTV. It has been made aware to the media over the past few weeks that Couture would become a part of the planned Bellator MMA reality show that is soon to be announced. The Press Conference will take place today at 2:00 PM EST, and Fighters.com will be bring you live updates from the conference call. Make sure you check back, and hit refresh for real time updates.

Kevin Kay President of Spike TB:

We are here to announced the show Fight Master MMA.

We spent a lot of time figuring out  who the fighters are.

They will announce the night of the week ‘soon’

We wanted to make sure Bellator MMA has a constant presence on Spike, and spring and summer is a good time for us to start this.

Bjorn Rebney:

Talks about the coaches, and introduces them.

We want to find the next Bellator champion.

The corner stone of this show is the people behind it. We have the Michael Jordan of reality of TV.

The commission in Louisiana will over see the fights. We had lots of options, but a lot of  things went into choosing the city.

You aren’t ging to talk your way into a title fight in Bellator. We have a high standard, and we have a nice mix of guys. Including people you may have already seen in Bellator.

We spent  a lot  of time picking the fighters, and they will come from all over the world.

Sharron Levy (Producer of Fight Master)

The format: 32 fighters starts, 16 will get in the house, and the fighters will choose their coaches and fights.

Production will start soon, and we will be doing a seeding after each fight, and the top seeds will choose the seeds.

The weight class will be welterweight.

The fighters will chose their coaches right after they fight.

We know the fighters that will be on the show. Each coach will have a staff as well.

We think this is a fresh format.

Randy Couture:

It’s an honor to be back on Spike, and they changed the landscape of MMA for the better. This is a watershed moment to create more new fighters.

Ryan is his own  man, and its sometime a burden to carry this last name.

Dana White has made this transformation easy, and got us a lot of attention.

Cornering Ryan is an athletic commission issue, we will have to deal with.

Coaching is where I started MMA its something I enjoy.

Its nice to be working with Bellator, and I like their progressive format. We get a chance to see them develop.

My only involvement is to coach at this  point.

It’s been difficult to keep my mouth shut over the past few weeks.

It’s been  an ongoing process, and I have been deciding for a few months. This has been a serious decision.

Frank Shamrock:

When Strikeforce ended it was rough, but when Kevin Kay called me and told me what he wanted to do. I was promised the best coaches  in the world, and they delivered. Also, I have a job.

Greg Jackson:

I had to keep it hush hush, but UFC probably knows about my decision now. I don’t see any problems.

I am going to have be a master juggler to pull this off, but I have great coaches at home.

I will be there for my fighters outside Bellator.

Joe Warren:

Ive been coming  up under Randy for a long time, my wrestling background wasn’t the reason I was picked.
