The World Series of Fighting recently revealed a three-year deal to broadcast six annual events on NBC Sports and now it appears the organization has a headliner to usher in a new era of free, live MMA on television. Scheduled for March 23 in Atlantic City, New Jersey, WSOF 2 will feature former UFC heavyweight champ Andrei Arlovski locking horns with Anthony Johnson in the evening’s headlining tilt.
Arlovski confirmed the clash on his Twitter account. Other fighters already attached to the card include Josh Burkman, Tyson Nam, and Paulo Filho.
The 19-9 Arlovski has finished seventeen of his past opponents and owns victories over the likes of Tim Sylvia, Roy Nelson, and Fabricio Werdum. Meanwhile, the fight will be Johnson’s first as a heavyweight despite having the physical stature to compete in the division. He is 14-4 in his career and currently on a four-fight winning streak.
