Former UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos decided to do a little self public relations on Tuesday amid reports that he had parted way with Team Nogueira.
Reports circulated from Brazil that “Cigano” had decided to leave the guidance of Antonio Rodrigo and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, the two UFC fighters who helped give him a home and bring him up in MMA.
Those reports had dos Santos training at Nova Uniao, another of the big-time Brazilian base sites for MMA.
However, late in the day, dos Santos took to social media and posted the following picture, along with the caption, “Team Nogueira I’m proud to also being part of this team!”
Dos Santos currently does not have a fight lined up within the UFC. The 30-year-old is 16-3 in his career, with two of those losses coming to current UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez.
