UFC featherweight champ Jose Aldo went the distance with former lightweight title-holder Frankie Edgar last night at UFC 156 and came out on top, a feat many felt he wouldn’t be able to perform. Though there’s no question Edgar did a valiant job against the seemingly unbeatable Brazilian, Aldo isn’t ready to call “The Answer” the stiffest challenge he’s ever faced inside the Octagon.
Aldo spoke about the matter with Fuel TV after the event’s conclusion, also stating he felt he won every round of his rumble with Edgar and was willing to fight any opponent the UFC matchmaking team throws his way.
“He’s a former champion so of course he was a very tough opponent. But I’ve also had very tough fights in the past. So I can’t rate him as my toughest opponent – a lot of fighters in the past were also very tough.”
