The ufc continues to find itself the subject of much debate when talks turn to its increasingly stringent policy on fighter’s contracts. However, the UFC has definitely done a good job of keeping its best and brightest under contract, including most of the hot prospects that have real potential to become major stars in the future. Recently, it was announced that both Charlie Brenneman and Jim Miller have signed contract extensions with the UFC. Here are all the details.

The news comes by way of MMA Junkie, in a report that states that both Miller and Brenneman have signed on for four additional fights in the UFC.

Charlie Brenneman entered the Octagon a 10-1 newcomer, and has gone 2-1 in the world’s largest and most prestigious MMA organization. A TKO loss to Johny Hendricks currently sits sandwiched between two decision wins, the first over Jason High and the most recent over Amilcar Alves. Brenneman is a solid addition to the UFC’s Welterweight division and has already shown some potential to be a star player in the years to come.

While I can’t say that I’m all too familiar with Brenneman, I certainly have nothing against him and I think it’ll be interesting to see what he does with the opportunity he’s been given. His home seems to be the mid-level for now, but he’s got four fights to elevate himself and that’s certainly not an impossible task.

Jim Miller is currently on a fantastic six-fight win-streak. And as he himself so often repeats, Miller has only ever lost to two men: Frank Edgar and Gray Maynard, who are currently slated to battle it out for a third and perhaps final time for Edgar’s UFC Lightweight Championship. Recently, Miller put a quick halt to the rapid ascension of can’t-miss prospect Charles Oliveira, submitting “Do Bronx” in under two minutes. Miller is currently expected to face WEC veteran Kamal Shalorus.

I’m very glad Jim Miller has signed on for four additional fights, I really think the best place for him right now is the world’s largest MMA promotion. What with the UFC Lightweight division being blown wide open with the ascension of Edgar and the influx of former WEC fighters, MMA fans are in for some amazing fights at 155. Jim Miller has already earned my respect for his very convincing win-streak and his recent dominating performances, so I look forward to seeing him emerge as a true top-level star.

I think we’re going to be talking a lot more about Jim Miller before 2011 is through. Not only does he have all the tools necessary to become a high-level star, he’s also got the experience and an entertaining fighting style. I look forward to his upcoming bout with Shalorus for two reasons: on paper it sounds like a great fight, and if he wins Miller will have extended a solid win-streak. Over the course of this win-streak I’ve really started to become a fan of Jim Miller, and I certainly can’t wait to see what’s next for him.

And what about you, fans and friends? Any reactions on these two staying in the Octagon for their next four fights?
