The UFC returns to Las Vegas for the first time in 2013 with their annual Super Bowl weekend card. UFC 156 takes place Saturday night where featherweights will be on showcase in the main event thanks to a tilt between current champion Jose Aldo takes on former lightweight king Frankie Edgar in a super-fight that has been talked about for years.

In the co-headliner, former light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans takes on Antonio Rogerio Nogueira where the winner will find himself one step closer to to a crack at divisional gold.

It all goes down this Saturday night and Fighters.com will be bringing you all results live while also providing detailed coverage of the entire event. Things start up at 6:00 PM EST so make sure to join us then!

Figueroa opens up with a leg kick, but Rivera is already working his jab very well. Figueroa lands a huge right hand that wobbles Rivera a little, and they both start winging shots. Figueroa lands a big left hook that drops Rivera. Figueroa begins working from guard, and is dropping elbows. Rivera scrambles and gets to his feet. Rivera lands a nice leg kick, and follows with a solid uppercut. Figueroa is lacing together some nice combinations, and Rivera takes him down with and inside trip. Rivera moves to side mount, and Figueroa scrambles up to his feet. Figueroa gord back to work with his jab, and Rivera is answering with low kicks. Rivera lands a nice combination, and gets the inside trip.

Rivera looks like the fresher fighter in this round, and Rivera is dancing on the outside making Figueroa miss. Figueroa catches a kick, and takes Rivera down, and Rivera starts threatening from the bottom with submissions. Rivera doing a good job of tying up Figueroa.After eating some shots, Rivera scrambles up and lands a nice body kick. Rivera is landing some nice combinations, and Figueroa is answering back with solid left hooks. Rivera lands a big right hand that wobbles Figueroa. After eating some shots, Figueroa turns away and Rivera starts lighting him up on the fence. Props to Figueroa for showing a lot of heart at the end.

Chico Camus vs. Dustin Kimura (Herb Dean)

Round 1

Camus takes the center and the fighters start to feel each other out. Camus lands a big right hand that backs up Kimura and he almost goes down. Takedown from Camus, and Kimura begins framing up a submission but Camus does well to defend. Kimura frames up an arm bar, and he is really giving fits to Camus. Kimura sets up and  omoplata, and almost gets it but  uses it to sweep. Camus went to scramble up, but Kimura takes the back and Camus scrambles up to the top. Nice scramble there. Camus is doing a good job of staying heavy on top of Kimura, and Kimura is constantly submission hunting. Little or not  GnP from Camus.

Round 2
Camus comes out light  on his feet and lands a nice leg kick. Kimura seems like he is having a hard time pulling the trigger. Camus is also switching stances back and forth, it might be confusing Kimura. Kimura lands a nice combination, but Camus is in the pocket throwing back. Kimura is the one coming forward, but Camus is doing good to counter him. Camus has Kimura pressed on the fence, and he lands a big knee to the head of Kimura. They split off, and Camus dives in for a takedown and gets it. Kimura frames  up a triangle, then goes belly down for an armbar, and  then back to another triangle. Camus is saved by the bell.

Kimura coming forward, and Camus is already looking for the takedown. Camus is pressing him on the fence, and he splits off. Camus goes for the takedown, and Kimura reverses it and ends up on top. Camus gives  up his back, and Kimura sinks in the rear naked choke for the win.

Yves Edwards vs. Isaac Vallie-Flagg ( Ref. Yves Lavigne)
Round 1

Edwards takes the center and Vallie-Flagg already very aggressive. Vallie-Flagg is working the jab well, and he is constantly in the face of Edwards. Vallie-Flagg is doing good keeping Edwards on the outside, and is landing  leg kicks and jumping for jabs. Edwards is starting to come on a bit, and Vallie-Flagg lands a  nice right hand. The strike forces Edwards to clinch and he eats a big  knee. They break off, and Edwards lands a nice low leg kick. Vallie-Flagg is still the one coming forward, and he lands a cracking right hand. Edwards clinches, and Vallie-Flagg makes him pay with some overhand rights. Edwards throws a kick, and Vallie-Flagg catches it, and is clinching  him on the fence. Edwards reverses, and starts working the  knees. The round ends as Vallie-Flagg lands a nice  one-two.

Round 2

Vallie-Flagg clinches early, and is holding a thai plum very well on Edwards. They break off, and Edwards is starting to pressure. Vallie-Flagg lands a nice uppercut, and Edwards is back to dancing on the outside. Edwards lands a big combination, but Vallie-Flagg clinches and starts working  knees on the fence. Edwards goes for the takedown, but Vallie-Flagg makes it hard on him. Edwards goes to work from ½ guard, and he moves to side mount. Edwards moves to full mount. Vallie-Flagg gives up his back, and Edwards goes to work for the rear naked choke.

Vallie-Flagg is coming forward early, and is landing slick straight right hands. Edwards is countering well, but Vallie-Flagg is definitely controlling the pace. Vallie-Flagg landa nice left jab, and clinches Edwards on the fence. Vallie-Flagg already working the knees to the thighs. Edwards breaks off but eats a nice elbow  for his troubles. Vallie-Flagg lands a nice knee, and Edwards goes hunting for a takedown he doesn’t get. Back to the  clinch and Vallie-Flagg is landing the knees, and Edwards breaks off and  lands a nice body kick. Edwards is gassed out, and Vallie-Flagg is controlling him on the fence and landing some nice dirty boxing strikes. Vallie-Flagg is still walking down Edwards,  and is landing almost all of his punches. The round ends with a quick exchange.

Bobby Green vs. Jacob Volkmann (Ref Kim Winslow)
Round 1

No touch here, Green  takes the center and they start feeling each other out. Green is the one coming forward, but he is being very leary of the takedown. Volkmann shoots, and misses it, but Volkmann shoots again and gets it. Volkmann goes to work from ½ guard, and he is landing some punches but Green is tying him up well. Green on the bottom, and Volkmann has him stacked up well against the fence. Volkmann takes the back of Green, and laces up a body triangle. He is already working for the rear naked choke. Green is defending well, but Volkmann is landing some strikes and trying to soften up.

Green takes the center again, and Volkmann shoots in but eats a huge knee. Green avoids the takedown, and he has Volkmann up against the fence landing knees. They break off, and Volkmann shoots again, but ends up on his back with Green in his guard. Green is landing some ground and pound with some nice shots to the body, and moves to side mount. Green is landing some nice elbows, and Volkmann is bleeding. KIm Winslow stands them up. Crowd hates it, and now Volkmann looks very tired. Volkmann gets ahold of Green and takes his back and pulls him down. Volkmann working hard for the RNC but he won’t get it.

Round 2

Green is pressuring early again, and Volkmann shoots and doesn’t get it. Volkmann lands a low blow, and we are back to action. Green the fresher fighter in the late round, and is still coming forward. Green lands a solid body kick. Volkmann clinches and tries to take down Green, but Green ends up on top. Green is starting to land elbows, and Volkmann scrambles up. Green is really going to the body with punches, and he is sprawling  well. Green throws a kick, and Volkmann takes him down, but Green reverses it.  After a scramble, Green ends up in full mount and unleashes with some strikes. Volkmann ties him up, and now Green is slamming him to the mat. Volkmann gives up his back, and Green laces up the rear naked choke.

Hieron takes the center, and they are feeling each other out. Woodley explodes, and drops Hieron with a mean left hand. He swarms Hieron, and pounds him out.

Evan Dunham vs. Gleison Tibau ( Ref. Yves Lavigne)
Round 1

Two southpaws here. Tibau takes the center, and they are feeling each other out. Dunham opens up a nice one-two on Tibau, and Tibau lands a fancy left hook. Dunham is using his reach well, and Tibau lands a big  right hand. Dunham shoots, and Tibau grabs a front choke, and pulls guard for the guillotine. He misses it, and now Dunham scrambles up. Dunham presses Tibau on the fence, and they break off. A lull in the action here, and Dunham lands a right hand. Tibau already looks like he is slowing down, and he forces Dunham on the fence.

Round 2

Dunham is stalking Tibau early, and  is definitely the fresher fighter. Dunham is getting the better of these exchanges, and is slowly picking apart Tibau. Tibau lands a big left hand, and Dunham shoots in. Dunham now landing knees to the legs of Tibau, and at least one solid one to the mid section. Dunham is still the one coming forward and he lands a nice body kick. Tibau is throwing back, but the story here so far is Dunham keeping Tibau at the end of his punches. Dunham shoots for another takedown, and Tibau defends. Dunham is reaching on some of his punches, and that might be a bad idea against Tibau. Tibau is definitely look to land counters.

Dunham opens up with a straight kick, Dunham goes for a takedown, and doesm’t get it. Tibau frames up a choke, but Dunham scrambles up. Back to the center, both are exchanging but its Dunham getting the  better of these strikes. Tibau eats a hook, and slips to the floor and pops back up. Tibau shoots this time, but Dunham stuffs it. Dunham is landing the  jab at will now, and Tibau is slowing down. Dunham shoots  for another  takedown, and doesn’t get it. Again, Dunham is keeping Tibau at the end of his punches, and Tibau is swinging at air. Dunham lands a big knee with ten seconds left, and he is brutalizing Tibau.

Round 1

Benavidez takes the center, and they both open up with leg kicks. McCall goes for the takedown, and gets stuffed. Benavidez lands a nice hook, and McCall breaks off for some space. McCall lands a nice kick, and Benavidez returns fire. Benavidez looks to be more calm in the cage, and Benavidez lands a big combination. McCall eats his second  low kick to the pills, and they take a break. Benavidez is looking to land the counter, and McCall eats a big left hook. McCall coming forward now, but Benavidez is slipping strikes very well. McCall lands a nice body kick, but he eats a left  for his troubles. McCall is starting to slow down, and get his timing right. McCall lands a nice  hand, and they exchange leg kicks as the round ends.

Benavidez is stalking early, and he is doing a nice job of ducking the right hand of McCall and landing  his  own hook. Exchange of  low kicks, and Benavidez is coming forward landing a right hook. They clinch, and McCall tries an inside trip, but its McCall who ends up with his back on the fence. McCall lands a nice right hand, and Benavidez lands a solid body kick again. Benavidez ducks under a punch, and McCall ends up on top. Benavidez gets his back taken, and McCall is landing some nice GnP. Benavidez scrambles up, but McCall has him on the fence and still has his back.

Benavidez lands a big right hand, and starts teeing off on McCall. McCall scrambles away, and Benavidez lands a nice elbow on the break. Benavidez is walking down McCall, and he lands a nice one-two. Benavidez lands a nice kick, and McCall drops for a second but it looked like  more of a slip. Benavidez is really loading up on these punches, and McCall is just eating them when they land. Benavidez lands a nice 4 strike counter. McCall gets the takedown, but Benavidez pops right back up. Benavidez catches a kick and last a right hand, and then both throw a leg kick. Benavidez lands a 3 punch combination, and McCall lands a clean hook to the body. McCall goes for a takedown, but Benavidez isn’t having it.

Round 1

Maia shoots in for the takedown, and he gets it, and takes his back.Fitch stands up, but is wearing Maia like a backpack. Fitch is doing well to defend, but Maia won’t let this up. Maia lets go, and takes Fitch down again. Fitch gets taken down, and Maia is landing knees to the body. Maia is just smothering Fitch. He closes the round landing punches to the body of Maia.

Fitch lands a solid leg kick, and Maia is already hunting the takedown. Maia gets the takedown this time, and Fitch scrambles up. Maia presses Fitch on the fence, and pulls him down to the ground. Maia is riding the back, and has both hooks in. He sinks in the RNC, but Fitch is defending well. Maia has the body triangle on tight, and Fitch is flopping around  like a fish. Alistair Overeem vs. Antonio Silva
Round 1 (ref Herb Dean)
Overeem takes the center, and Silva throws a leg kick. A lot of feeling out here, and they clinch and break. Overeem pressing Silva on the fence and is landing knees to the legs. They break  off, and  Overeem is stalking. Silva clinches, and Overeem presses him up against the fence for more  knees. Overeem lands a nice combination, and is walking in with his hands  down. Overeem lands a solid low kick. Overeem grabs the clinch, and spins Silva on to the fence. They end clinching on the fence.

Overeem still with his hands down, and Silva lands a nice leg kick. Overeem scores a takedown, and is in side mount on top of Silva. Silva lands 2 big elbows from the bottom. Silva gets guard back, and Overeem is posturing and landing big shots to the body. Overeem stands up, and eats a few leg kicks from Silva’s back and hops back into guard. Overeem landing some decent ground  and pound from in guard. Silva is  hunting for subs, but Overeem is being careful. Dean stands the  up, Silva lands a big knee and they exchange as the round ends.

Nogueira takes the center, and the feeling out begins. Evans lands a body kick, but both are being very cautious. 90 seconds  in, and still playing paddy cake. Nogueira goes to work with his  jab, and he is keeping Evans on the outside. Nogueira lands a nice straight left, no wrestling from Evans yet. Evans coming forward now, and Nogueira eats a big right hand.Best punch so far for Evans. Evans gets a takedown, but Nogueira pops right back up and breaks  off. Nogueira coming forward and lands  a nice jab, but Evans lands a nice hook.

Evans looks more relaxed, and Nogueira seems to be having a hard time firing off. Evans lands a nice leg kick, and then comes  in and lands a right hand. Nogueira lands a nice left hand, and follows it up with a body kick. Evans shoots for a takedown, but doesn’t get it. Nogueira is landing a one two over and over again, and Evans closes the distance and lands a nice hook. Evans shoots again, Nogueira stops it and lands a nice combination. Evans is really loading up his right hand, the last one was like a fastball. Evans throws a headkick, but Nogueira sees it coming.

Nogueira takes the center, and its Evans looking  like he has a hard time pulling the trigger. Nogueira is landing his  jab, and Evans is still trying to catch them. Evans lands a nice double jab,but then eats one for his troubles from Nog. Nogueira lands a nice body kick, and then lands a good  front kick. Nogueira takes a finger to the eye but they are back. Nogueira lands two straight lefts, and then a big body kick. Evans shoots again, and misses it. Evans lands a nice jab, but those strikes won’t win him this fight. Evans shoots, and  misses again. Nogueira lands a big knee to the body, and then Evans eats another jab. Both clinch and exchange knees as the round ends.

Jose Aldo vs. Frankie Edgar – for featherweight title
Round 1

Edgar opens  up with a leg kick, and Edgar is already dancing around. Aldo lands a solid leg kick. Aldo lands a big jab, and Aldo is cutting off the cage nicely. Both being cautious, and Aldo is landing the jab almost at will. Edgar throws a leg kick, and Aldo lands a huge straight right. Aldo has edgar timed, and its 2 mins into round 1. Edgar lands a decent overhand right, and Aldo returns fire. Aldo is slipping punches, and returning fire. Edgar’s nose is bleeding, and Aldo lands a big leg kick. Those will slow him down. Aldo throws a head kick, and Edgar blocked most of  it.

Aldo is confident, and Edgar is coming forward, but  is getting picked apart. Aldo looks to be the faster fighter. Edgar keeps throwing kicks, and everytime he eats a jab from Aldo. Aldo lands a slick combination, and Edgar shoots but gets stuffed. Aldo lands another big leg kick. THUD! Edgar is slowing down, and Aldo lands leg kick and drops Edgar. Edgar pops up, and comes back with a kick of his own, but again eats a jab. Edgar finally gets ahold of Aldo, and clinches him on the fence. Aldo breaks free. Edgar gets the takedown, but Aldo pops up like a spring. Aldo lands a nice double jab.

Edgar runs out and  shoots, Aldo defends it well. Aldo takes the center, and he is making  Frankie miss. Aldo lands a big front kick to the face of Edgar and his nose is pouring blood. Almost every time Edgar closes the distance, he eats a jab from Aldo. Edgar lands a nice leg kick, and Aldo lands a nice left hook. Aldo lands a big uppercut, and Edgar shoots in and Aldo shrugs it off.

Edgar opens up with a nice jab. Edgar is coming  forward and lands a nice leg kick. Aldo lands a nice spinning back kick to the body, followed by another leg kick. Aldo doesn’t even look concerned when Edgar comes forward. Edgar throws four jabs, and all of them miss. Edgar goes for another takedown, and misses again. Aldo throws a nice over hand elbow and a jab, Edgar lands a low kick. Edgar gets the takedown, and Aldo pops back up. Edgar has his back, and  is kneeing Aldo’s legs. Edgar lets go. Aldo is now stalking Edgar, and lands a nice combination. Edgar goes for another takedown, and  doesn’t get it.

Aldo takes the center and starts landing jabs. Edgar eats a left hook. Edgar shoots again and  gets stuffed, and Aldo lands a nice hook. Aldo clips him with a nice hand, Edgar shoots and misses again. Aldo doing a good job at keeping Edgar at distance. Edgar forces the clinch, and lands a decent combination. Aldo lands a big right hand that stuns Edgar. Edgar coming forward, and still can’t get the takedown. Aldo lands a nice jab, and Edgar swings and misses with a head kick. Aldo jumps of the cage, and lands a superman punch.
