The preliminary numbers are in for the ratings of Bellator’s second showing on Spike TV, and while they dipped a bit, Bellator had another strong showing among fans. Bellator 86 took place in Oklahoma this past Thursday night, and initial reports say 812,000 people tuned in to see the card. An immediate replay of the event netted another 320,000 viewers pushing the total over 1.1 million. Industry sources have also verified that the event earned Bellator a household rating of 0.7, and a .62 in males aged 18-49. A solid number for their target demographic.
The numbers are down slightly from their season and network debut at Bellator 85. Its important to note that the first card held two championship fights, and featured some of their most well known fighters. It is also important to mention that last season Bellator ratings were considered a success on MTV 2 when they netted over 250,000 viewers.
Bellator is back on Spike TV this Thursday night for Bellator 87 from Mount Pleasant, Michigan where they will hold the quarter final round of the Season 8 Lightweight Tournament.
