Middleweight Vitor Belfort may only be a week removed from an impressive win over Michael Bisping but it appears the UFC is already looking at an opponent for the Brazilian’s next bout. According to UFC President Dana White, he and his matchmaking team are targeting a tilt between Belfort and Strikeforce middleweight champ Luke Rockhold for some point in the immediate future.
The 10-1 Rockhold is anxiously awaiting his UFC debut after sitting on the sidelines since July as the result of some health-related woes. He is currently on a nine-fight winning streak including success against Tim Kennedy and Ronaldo Souza. Belfort, who holds an overall record of 22-10, has come out triumphant in his last three fights at 185 pounds.
White’s statements were made to media at the UFC on FOX 6 press conference and were captured by MMAFighting.
No date/event were mentioned regarding the possible pairing.

I’m not sure Rockhold’s ready for Belfort yet. Stiff test.
