Pettis, Rockhold, Bisping: A Recap of UFC Tonight

As usual, we were provided several interesting news bits from Wednesday night’s “UFC Tonight” program, including the tentative return date for a champion.

UFC lightweight champ Anthony Pettis is believed to be working towards a July return to action. Pettis could face the winner of Saturday’s Benson Henderson-Josh Thomson fight at UFC on FOX 10.

According to UFC Tonight’s Ariel Helwani, Pettis believes Henderson will defeat Thomson. “Showtime”" won the title from Henderson last year with a first round submission victory.

- Luke Rockhold appears to want Tim Kennedy’s spot against Michael Bisping. The show reported that Rockhold is planning to meet with the UFC this weekend in hopes of facing Bisping next.

Recent reports have Kennedy and Bisping squaring off later this year in the main event of The Ultimate Fighter Nations Finale.

Bisping still needs to get cleared due to his eye issues. “The Count” has developed a cataract in his eye and a failed test would deny him his fight license.

Also, Rockhold is interested in a possible fight or two at 205 pounds. He is a former Strikeforce middleweight champion and recently defeated Costa Philippou for his first Octagon win.
