An injury to Justin Edwards has forced the Ultimate Fighter alumnus out of action against Gunnar Nelson at UFC on Fuel 7. Fortunately, the organization has already found a replacement for the February 16 fight, plucking seasoned finisher Jorge Santiago from free agency to fill the vacancy.
UFC officials have confirmed the match-up’s addition to next month’s lineup. Santiago has seen two other runs in the Octagon end in release after failing to find consistency inside the eight-sided cage.
Santiago holds an overall record of 25-10 with 23 stoppages to his credit as well as wins over respected competitors like Trevor Prangley, Jeremy Horn, Mamed Khalidov, and Kazuo Misaki. Comparably, Nelson is 10-0-1 with finishes in all of his fights.
UFC on Fuel 7 is scheduled for London, England and features a main event between interim bantamweight champion Renan Barao and streaking younger Michael McDonald.

Nice fight. Better than the original in my opinion.
