UFC 158: St-Pierre vs. Diaz Press Conference (HIGHLIGHTS/VIDEO)

The UFC is ramping up the marketing campaign for UFC 158: St-Pierre vs. Diaz and are kicking the whole thing off with a press conference featuring defending champion Georges St-Pierre and former Strikeforce title-holder Nick Diaz. Fans shouldn’t be concerned about Diaz no-showing to this press conference as pictures have already surfaced of him in Montreal for the festivities. While some folks feel Diaz shouldn’t be getting the title shot, this was the fight that St-Pierre wanted and there are dollar signs written all over it.

Check out the video below followed by updates from the festivities…

UFC President Dana White

-I feel great. Thanks for everyone..

-I’m always respectful to my opponent. I can only know what I am going to do. I also want to be back in there quick.

-GSP wanted this, he has been great to us. We owe him.

-We weren’t disappointed with the numbers from last time. The day i start bumming out about 3.1 million will be a weird  day.

-Makes sense to come out and do the event here.

-I’m fine with Nick and Nate. He didn’t show up for that presser, but I have always had a good relationship with Nick. He doesn’t  have to answer my calls.

-If Hendricks win he will “probably” be next in line for a title-shot

UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St-Pierre

-This is the fight everyone wanted. Including me and Nick.

-Ive never fought once a year. I’m always fighting. The time was nice.

-I’m just happy to get the show on the road.

-I’m glad Nick is here.

-I’m used to trash talking opponents.

-We were supposed to do this fight before, and I thought Johnny Hendricks lost that fight against Josh Koscheck. There is a big story between me and nick, and its time to do this.

-A Lot of French….

-I don’t know what I will do after this fight. I have Nick on my hand.

-I never ducked anyone, and its his chance, and I am happy to give it to him. I believe he is the best in my division.

-Its not  really advantage, but  yes the crowd will pump us up. No one else will help us. It will just be me and Nick in the cage.

-Nick is very excited. He will push me to the edge, and I will have to get better to win.  He wants what I have, that is what I what I don’t like.

Former Strikeforce Champion Nick Diaz

-Its not  so bad once you are here, but I would rather not do it. This is a little close to the fight.

-Most of my fights have been back to back. I never felt 100%, but I have a year off. Its nice to heal up and step back.

-I’m not concerned  about right rust.

-I didn’t think I would get this fight, the way I looked at it, I needed time to reflect and take some time out.

-I’m still working into this camp. The way I see it, I have been training to fight Hughes since I was 18 years old.  I have some of the best wrestlers on my camp. We never shut the door on the wrestlers, We always brought them in. Ive got a lot of wrestlers.

-It wasn’t professional on my part to miss the  last presser, I learned my listened, and I’m ready to fight.

-I didn’t believe it when I heard that GSP wanted to fight. I have been promoting to fight  this fight since I was in Elite XC.

-I wasn’t impressed with either Carlos or GSP in the last fight. It was a great fight, but I wasn’t impressed.

-I wont complain about money, I’m here to fight.

- I like my opponent. He is  the number one guy to beat. This is what I want. He has the spot.  I wasn’t even fighting in the UFC when I was talking sh*t about GSP.

-Its cold here.
