UFC officials have confirmed a featherweight bout between Sweden’s own Akira Corassani and Robbie Peralta. The fighters have verbally agreed to meet on April 6 in Stockholm Sweden at UFC on FUEL 9: Gustafsson vs. Mousasi.
Corassani holds an overall record of 10-3 with a 1-0 mark in the Octagon, while Peralta is 16-3 and on a nine-fight winning streak including a 23-second knockout of Jason Young in his most recent rumble.
This is the second year in a row the UFC has stopped in Sweden, and once again light heavyweight Alexander Gustafsson will fight in the main event in front of his countrymen. Gustafsson will take on former Strikeforce light heavyweight champion Gegard Mousasi in a match-up with major implications on the division’s contendership picture.
