In the early days the UFC was predicated on putting two fighters with contrasting styles inside the Octagon to see whose discipline was superior. Friday night’s main event at UFC on FX between Melvin Guillard and Jim Miller certainly pays homage to those roots, as Guillard is a hard-hitting striker with nineteen TKOs to his credit and Miller a submission savant with eleven tap-outs under his belt.
With only a few days to go before the two 155ers face off the UFC has released a preview for the event featuring each discussing their headlining match-up as well as what the other brings into the cage.
“I’ve been thinking about this fight like steel sharpening steel,” explains Guillard of Miller. “He’s an amazing fighter, so I have my abilities, he has his. I think it’s going to come down to who makes that first mistake.”
“I will do my best to take him out and I’m going for the knockout,” concludes the 28-year old in the clip.
