UFC Fight Night 35 competitor Yoel Romero is a bit of an X-factor in the middleweight division. Sporting top notch credentials, such as representing Cuba in freestyle wrestling in the 2000 Summer Olympics and earning a silver medal for his efforts, as well as hailing from the venerable American Top Team, it almost seems as if the sky is the limit for him. But Romero is 36-years old, which is close to (if not past) the expiration date for many fighters. In other words, how far can he actually go in the Octagon before Father Time comes a-calling?
Tonight will mark Romero’s third Octagon appearance, and he is thus far 2-0 in the UFC (6-1 overall). Will opponent Derek Brunson pose much of a threat? Probably not, which means we’ll be able to further ponder the Cuban fighter’s ceiling a bit more in the future.
Anyway, here’s a video the UFC put together for Romero. Watch and enjoy.
