Strikeforce: Marquardt vs. Saffiedine Medical Suspensions

The Oklahoma State Athletic Commission has released the medical suspensions for Strikeforce: Marquardt vs. Saffiedine. The event took place this past Saturday night in Oklahoma City and was the final show in the promotion’s history. In the evening’s headliner, Tarec Saffiedine defeated Nate Marquardt by unanimous decision to win the welterweight championship.

The commission has suspended five fighters from the event. Dion Staring and Michael Bravo were suspended for 30 days for precautionary reasons while Anthony Smith was also suspended 30 days for lacerations to his face. Additionally, Ed Herman has been suspended indefinitely until he gets his shoulder an arm cleared by a physician and Kurt Holobaugh has also been suspended indefinitely until a potential hand injury is addressed by a medical professional.
