Great Article Turk! Dana IS very savvy and I think the best things about him are #1, he truly loves this sport and not just the income it brings him. And #2, he is good with people. Haha, well fans at least. I know all the bad things that people say about him but I love his no bull-crap attitude and the way he speaks his mind.

I've said it before and I'll say it again; I don't see Presidents or Commissioners of other major sports organizations giving away free tickets to fans. I definitely don't see them pulling box office tickets from sale to give to fans. Dana White says he cares about his fans, and its obvious that its true. More importantly, he cares about the sport of MMA. He's no dummy and he realizes that in the long run, giving this sport more positive exposure is more important than the almighty dollar in the short run.

In my opinion Dana White is one of the sharpest business minds of his generation. He is simply a marketing genius and it seems to come naturally to him. Think about how he turned around the UFC. Now watch how he uses social media to grow the UFC fan base. Notice how he gives away actual pay per view events on Spike for free. Simply an genius marketing strategy. Just think; that was a totally new concept. I mean boxing surely never thought of giving premium fights away for free and that is one of the reasons boxing fans aren't as loyal as UFC fans.

Not only is he a marketer, but he is a outstanding leader. Think about how difficult it must be to lead the group of men he has to lead on a daily basis and he seems to do it effortlessly. I really enjoy watching Dana deal with the different personalities of all the fighters and coaches he has on theUltimate Fighter show.
incorporating his story.

I hope he decides to write a business/marketing/social media/life story book someday soon.
